Last night, Stoneham made history.
Because of thousands of conversations, countless volunteer hours, and a community that refused to give up on itself, the $9.3M override passed. This is a transformative moment for our town, one that will protect essential services, keep our library certified, keep our senior center open, and stabilize Stoneham for years to come.
But more than anything, it is a moment that showed who we are.
For years, Stoneham has carried a reputation that change was not possible here. Together, we proved that narrative wrong. We showed that when neighbors step forward, families, seniors, lifelong residents, and new residents alike, we can build a stronger town. We can choose hope over fear. We can choose investment over decline. We can choose each other.
This campaign was powered by people who love this community. Every flyer dropped, every door knocked, every conversation in the cold, every standout added up to something bigger than any one of us. You showed what community really looks like.
To every volunteer who gave their time, heart, and energy... thank you.
To every voter who took a stand for Stoneham's future... thank you.
To every supporter who believed this was possible... thank you.
Your work mattered. Your voice mattered. Your vote mattered.
We still have challenges ahead, but today we honor what this community accomplished. Today we recognize the courage it took to say yes to progress. Today we celebrate a town that came together and chose a better path for its future.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in this town and in one another. This moment belongs to all of us.
With deep gratitude,
- The Save Our Stoneham Steering Committee
