Updated with official certified results. The certified results show minor differences from the unofficial results: Question 1 now shows 3,600 yes votes (was 3,596) and 3,643 no votes (was 3,640), failing by 43 votes instead of 44. Question 2 now shows 4,001 yes votes (was 3,997) and 3,274 no votes (was 3,271), passing by 727 votes instead of 726. Total voter turnout was 7,297 instead of 7,290.

On December 9, 2025, Stoneham voters were asked to consider two override questions to fund public safety, education, council on aging, public works, library, and general government expenses. Question 1 failed to pass, while Question 2 received majority support.
Question 1: $12.5 Million Override
Question 1 asked voters to approve a $12,500,000 override for town services beginning July 1, 2026. The question received 3,600 yes votes (49.35%) and 3,643 no votes (49.94%), with 54 blank votes. No votes exceeded yes votes by 43 votes, causing the question to fail.

Both questions required a simple majority of those voting on each question to pass. If both questions had passed, the higher amount of $12.5 million would have prevailed under state law. With Question 1 failing and Question 2 passing, the $9.3 million override will take effect.
